RAJOURI, Dec 7: At least 24 persons were injured, some of them seriously when a passenger bus rolled down into the fields near Chingus this afternoon.
Official sources said that mishap took place at around 12.50 pm at Kallar village, when the ill-fated bus No. JK12/ 3751, which was on way to Poonch from Jammu went out of control, skidded off the road and rolled down into the fields. The movement of the other vehicles on this busy highway came to halt immediately after seeing tragic accident and the people traveling in other vehicles rushed for the rescue operation.

The police party from the nearby Chingus Police Post and Rajouri Police Station also rushed to the site and joined the rescue operation. All the 24 injured were shifted to District Hospital, Rajouri. Some of the injured persons were discharged after providing first aid in the hospital. Over speeding was said to be the reason behind the accident by police and locals.
The injured admitted to District Hospital Rajouri are identified as, Vipan Kumar (37), son of Jia Lal, resident of Chityari; Nahim Akhtar (18), daughter of Kala Choudhary from Nakka Majari in Mendhar; Pankaj Kumar (37), son of Babu Ram from Rajbagh in Kathua; Shamim Akhtar (17), daughter of Khadim Hussain from Kallar; Rahila Kouser (18), daughter of Javed Khan from Kallar; Mohd Salim, son of Said Mohammed from Bandi Chechian in Poonch; Ajimul Haq (25), son of Altaf Mirza, resident of Sagpur Chingus; Gopal Mundal (42), son of Jagan Mundal from Babarpur; Som Raj (74), son of Mulakh Raj, resident of Keri Doongi, Rafiq, son of Hakam Din, resident of Poonch; Ghulam Fatma, wife of Hakam Din, resident of Swari; Kamran Azeem, son of Mohd Azam from Nowshera; Amit Kumar(20), son of Krishan Lal from Lowarkote; Parveen Akhtar (36), wife of Mohd Azeem, resident of Lowarkote, Tahira Bibi, wife of Fazal Hussain, resident of Dandesar; Nishat, daughter of Fazal Hussain of Dandesar; Som Raj, son of Lekh Raj from Doongi; Gulzar Begum, wife of Nazar Hussain from Danma; Ghulam Mustafa, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Dandesar; Suman Balla, wife of Ramesh Lal from Ward No. 11 Poonch; Rajinder Kour (47), wife of Tejinder Singh from Surankote; Zaheen Akhtar, wife of Altaf Hussain from Bhata Durian; Fazal Hussain (25), son of Nazir Hussain from Dandesar and Shah Bano (50), wife of Mohd Salim, resident of Bandi Chechian in Poonch.
