23 hurt in Nowshera, Bani road accidents

JAMMU, Jan 18: At least 23 persons were injured in two separate road accidents in Nowshera area of Rajouri and near Bani in district Kathua today.
A police spokesman said that at least 15 persons were injured when a Poonch route bus No.  JK02BB/4513, collided with an Army truck coming from the opposite direction near Tanyee bridge in Nowshera area this afternoon. The mishap took place when the bus was on way to Jammu from Poonch while Army truck was moving towards Rajouri from Akhnoor.
While the bus driver  escaped after accident from the spot, the injured were shifted to Nowshera Hospital. Five jawans including driver of the truck were removed to Army Hospital Rajouri. The police registered a case in this connection and started investigation.
Another report from Kathua said that at least eight persons were injured when a tipper collided with a passenger bus  near Sokar nallah in Bani area today. The bus bearing registration number, JK02S/6351 was on its way to Basohli from Bani when the mishap occurred.  The injured were removed to  Basohli hospital, where three of them were referred to District hospital Kathua. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
