UDHAMPUR, Feb 12: Police today rescued 23 bovine animals even as the smugglers managed to escape when the truck carrying these animals was intercepted on the National Highway near Tikri, here today.
According to the reports, acting on a specific information, a Police Party from PP Tikri laid a surprise naka near Roun Domail and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03E-8857, which was on way towards Kashmir.
During thorough search, the vehicles was found loaded with 23 bovine animals. Police rescued the animals while driver of the truck managed to escape from the spot.
In this connection, a case has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
