22 students of KCPS complete Adventure Trek

JAMMU, June 25: 22 students of KC Public School completed a 4 days’ trek in Saach Pass region of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh from June 18 to 22, 2018.
This adventure trek was undertaken under the aegis of International Award for Young People (IAYP) and Round Square Adventure Activities.
On June 19, 11 girls and 11 boys of the school trekked 10 kilometers to reach Hail-Tepa, the last twin village in Churah valley located at an altitude of 9000 ft on the lower slopes of Pir Panjal mountains forming the backdrop to the picturesque valley.
They visited the middle school in the village and interacted with students and teachers. On June 20, they trekked another 10 kilometers from Kala Ban to Satrundi at an altitude of 12000 ft. On the way, they studied the local flora and fauna and noted the impact of climate changes in the shape of receding glaciers.
On June 21, they joined the students of Government Senior Secondary School Tissa-Bhanjraru in the celebration of International Yoga Day and interacted with the students of that school. Later in the day, they visited another government primary school in the valley and interacted with the young children of that school in the form of poetry recitation and group singing.
The students who completed the adventure journey included Samya Vaid, Suhani Sachdeva, Arnav Vaid, Bhavyta Anand, Beeban Kaur Rance, Mahima Jamwal, Suhani Gupta, Kanhaiya Jain,Samarth Gupta, Advik Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Zorawar Singh, Atharv Chauhan, Shehjar Bhat, Harshdeep Oberoi, Pranjal Gupta, Aakarsh Sahni, Halin Kour, Puniya Raina, Taranaya Gupta, Sumegha Malhotra and Varnika Gupta. They were escorted on the trek by Dr Ram Thakur, Sonia Thakur, Ajay Thappa, Sangeeta Jain and Rajni Dubey.
