22 bovines rescued, two trucks seized

UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: Two bovine smuggling bids were foiled today by district police, which seized two trucks and rescued 22 bovines.
According to the police sources, on reliable information a police party of police station Chenani laid a surprise naka near Domail in Chenani area and intercepted one truck, which was on its way towards Kashmir.
During the thorough search, the vehicle was found loaded with 8 bovine animals, which were rescued while the truck driver managed to flee leaving behind the vehicle. The whole operation was conducted by SHO, Police station Chenani, Inspector Pardeep Gupta under the supervision of SDPO Chenani, Chanderjeet Singh. In this connection, a case was registered at police station Chenani and further investigation of the case was going on.
Another attempt of bovine smuggling was foiled near Jakhani, where a police party of police station Udhampur laid a surprise naka and during checking of a truck found 14 bovines loaded in it. All the bovines were rescued while driver of the truck escaped from the spot. In this connection, a case was registered at police station Udhampur and further investigation taken up.
