JAMMU, Dec 14: The whole atmosphere was fragrant with the smoke rising out of 201 Havan Kunds in the premises of MHAC School, Nagbani today.
This is the first time ever that such an event has been organized in any educational institution in the State. Thousands of devotees drawn from State and the staff from various DAV schools of the country besides the students and staff of the School participated in the function. The theme of today’s programme was let us make this world blissful.
The school arranged this event under the guidance of DAV Managing Committee, New Delhi and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, Delhi. This Mahayajana was arranged with the view to make the students aware of their culture, heritage and values, which are lacking in today’s modern education system.
The chief guest on the occasion was Poonam Suri, President, DAV Managing Committee New Delhi.
The guests of honor were the important dignitaries & office bearers of DAV Managing Committee, Principals & Regional Directors of various DAV Schools & Colleges of Punjab, Himachal, Haryana, U.P, Bihar, J&K etc. Numerous scholars, Arya Veers & Dharam Shikshaks from various parts of the country were invited to make the programme successful.
The spectacular cultural bonanza was also held by the School on the occasion.
Punam Suri, President DAV, in his speech spoke high about the staff, management and especially the force behind this mass event. Principal Alok Betab, congratulated all the staff members for such a commendable job.
He said Arya Samaj will hold a grand function at Jawahar Nagar Srinagar and revive its functioning in Kashmir Valley. He also congratulated the DAV members from Valley for their role in reviving the DAV institute in Kashmir and assured all help to them.
A separate Pandal was set where thousands of people had their share of Prasad in the form of Rishi langar.
Programme ended with a vote of thanks & recital of Shanti Path.
