2 yrs imprisonment in murderous attack case

JAMMU, Apr 15: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Vinod Chatterji Koul has awarded two years imprisonment to Surinder Singh, son of Kashmir Singh of Hiranagar in a murderous attack case.
After hearing both the sides, the court observed, “Surinder Singh has faced trial since 2011 and he must have faced agony and trauma during this period. He is a young man and a harsher sentence would certainly put him to tremendous difficulties and his family would suffer immensely for no fault on their part”.
“Keeping in view the nature of the injuries, the time gap since the occurrence and other attending factors, Surinder Singh deserves some leniency while sentencing him for commission of offences”, the court said while convicting the accused under Section 324 RPC.
Accordingly, the court awarded two years imprisonment to the convict.
