2 yrs imprisonment awarded to 80 yrs old Pak national

JAMMU, Jan 6: Additional Sessions Judge Jammu, Mohammad Akram Chowdhary today awarded two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to 80-years old Pakistan national.
According to the police case, on October 10, 2014, BSF deployed at BOP Suchetgarh observed suspicious movement of a person near border Pillar No 910 and accordingly he was nabbed by the alert border guards.
The Pakistani national identified as Mohammad Nazir, son of Fateh Din of Lahore was, later, handed over to police, which registered a case under 14 Foreigners Act and 3/6 India Passport Act. After completion of investigation, police presented challan in the court of law.
After hearing Additional Public Prosecutor Ajay Singh Manhas appearing for the State, Additional Sessions Judge convicted the accused for the commission of offences punishable under Section 14-A (b) Foreigners Act, 1946 and Section 12 of the Passports Act, 1920. Accordingly, he was awarded two years imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000.
