2 nabbed with 50 kg bukki

POONCH, Nov 23:  The police seized a truck along with 50 kg of poppy straw and arrested two drug-peddlers including the driver on Mughal Road in district Poonch today.
Official sources said that a police party led by SI Sukhvir Singh during naka at Behramgalla, under the supervision of DySP Surankote, Asgar Malik intercepted a truck which was coming from Kashmir side to Rajouri.  During thorough checking  of the  truck bearing registration no. PB12M/7284, the police  found 100 packet of poppy straw (Bukki),  weighing about 50 kg being smuggled to Punjab. This consignment had been concealed in tyres of the vehicle.
Two persons- driver and owner of the vehicle, namely Jasdev Singh, son of  Karnail Singh, resident of  Nagra, Ludhiana  and Balvinder Khan, son of  Sardara Khan, resident of  Nagra Ludhiana (Punjab) were arrested.
A case  FIR No. 292/2017 U/S 8/15 of NDPS ACT was  registered against the accused person’s at  Police Station, Surankote. Further investigation was in progress.
