JAMMU, Jan 10: Two Members of Legislative Assembly including one of ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) today staged walkout over different issues.
People’s Democratic Front (PDF) MLA Hakim Mohammad Yaseen staged walkout from the Lower House while expressing dis-satisfaction over the reply given by Minister for Education in response to his question regarding up-gradation of schools in Budgam district.
While replying to the question, Education Minister Naeem Akhtar said that six schools of Budgam district were proposed for up-gradation. However, Ministry of Human Resource Development didn’t approve any school for up-gradation during the financial year 2016-17.
“These schools shall be proposed for up-gradation under RMSA during next financial year 2017-18 subject to fulfillment of norms”, the Minister said. However, Hakim Yaseen expressed dis-satisfaction over the reply and remarked, “the Government is discriminating with Budgam district”.
On this, Education Minister remarked, “you were on the side of previous Government in the State but at that time no concern was expressed over up-gradation of proposed schools”. Later, Hakim Yaseen staged walkout.
Ruling PDP MLA Abdul Rahim Rather too staged walk-out during the Question House after he was not allowed by the Speaker to raise supplementary question.
