2 killed, 11 injured in mishaps

Srinagar, Oct 19:  Two persons were killed and 11 other were injured in separate road mishaps in Kashmir valley.
An official said here that a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05 8520 was on way to Machikrund from Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district when it slipped and skidded off the road because of wet surface resulting in death of two persons and injuries to 9 others.
He said the deceased has been identified as Kareem Hussain and Muhammad Rafi, both residents of Machikrund, Uri in the district. The injured persons were rushed to Uri hospital wherefrom seven of them were referred to District Hospital Baramulla.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said here that a Maruti car bearing registration number JK01G-2088 collided with a road divider at Mazhama Bridge in Magam area of central Kashmir’s Bugam district, resulting in injuries to its driver Ghulam Rasool and Rameez Ahmed Malla. “Both the injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman added.
