UDHAMPUR, Oct 28: In a tragic incident, two helpers died and driver got critically injured when a Hydra Crane overturned on the road near Army Headquarters, here today.
The deceased were identified as Manoj Kumar (26), son of Prem Chand of village Sumb in Samba and Sanjeev Kumar (40), son of Nasib Chand of Domail Udhampur. The injured, identified as Hydra Crane driver Jageer Lal, son of Roop Lal of Kot Punu Kathua, has been admitted at Command Hospital Udhampur and his condition was stated to be stable.
The incident took place after when the Hydra Crane was on its way to Army headquarters Udhampur and the driver lost control over the vehicle. In the mishap, both the helpers came under the overturned crane and apparently died on the spot while driver also sustained critical injuries.
Army jawans rushed to the spot and shifted the trio to Command Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared two parsons as brought dead.
Later, bodies of the deceased were handed over to the family members after conducting postmortem while condition of the injured driver is stated to be out of danger.
