JAMMU, Nov 3: Police today arrested two drug peddlers along with heroin and charas.
SP City South Sandeep Choudhary said that Kulbir Singh Salathia alias Kala S/o Surinder Singh R/o Guda Salathia, Vijaypur Samba was arrested with 50 grams charas and 6.5 grams heroin.
Ashwani Kumar S/o Mewa Ram R/o Bage-Bahu as daily wager at PHE was arrested with 10 grams herroin. In this regard, a case has been registered at Gandhi Nagar. The entire operation was led by SDPO South Rafiq Manhas and SHO Gandhi Nagar Dr Sunniya Wani.
Choudhary said that drugs are the single greatest threat to our society. “A large number of young men have fallen prey to drugs. This is an unfortunate truth that has to be accepted as a fact and has to be fought against head on. The volume of drugs being consumed is huge and despite many recoveries the situation is far from satisfactory because total eradication of drugs is the only way forward,” he added.
