Srinagar, Dec 27: Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 40 bottles of codeine and 7200 capsules of intoxicating drug from their possession during checking at Hyderpora area here in Srinagar.
A Police spokesperson said continuing its drive against drug abuse, police party Sadder during checking at Hyderpora, intercepted a suspicious vehicle. “The driver did not obey the signal and tried to flee away from the spot. The vehicle was chased and seized.
He added on checking 40 bottles of codeine and 7200 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus were recovered. He said the accused were identified as Nasir Ashraf Shah son of Mohd Ashraf Shah resident of Solina Payeen and Muddasir Ahmad Najar son of Ghulam Mohd Najar resident of Bagh-i-Mehtab.
In this regard, police said, a case FIR 246/2017 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered and an investigation was taken up.
