SAMBA, Aug 31: Bari Brahmana police today during patrolling at Birpur Chowk SIDCO Complex in Bari Brahmana arrested two persons and recovered 11.50 grams of heroin from their possession.
Acting against the drug menace and its propagators on the directions of Dr. Koshal Sharma, SSP Samba, a team of Bari Brahmana police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 11.5 Gm Heroin (Chitta) from their possession at SIDCO Chowk Bari Brahmana . The police party was headed by Inspector, Ravinder Singh Rakwal, SHO P/S Bari Brahmana under the supervision of Ashok Sharma, SDPO Bari Brahmana. During Patrolling at Birpur Complex SIDCO Chowk, Bari Brahmana the police team intercepted a Super Splender bike which was without Registration number.
During frisking of both bike riders 11.5 Gm Heroin (Chitta) was recovered from their possession. The accused were identified as Vipan Kumar Gupta @ Jony S/o Satpal Mahajan, R/o Ward No. 6 Bari Brahmana and Yakoob Ali @ Yuka S/o Bashir Ahmed R/o Gujjar Basti, Sarore Adda, Bari Brahmana. The accused were arrested on the spot and contraband item was also seized.
In this regard, case FIR No. 159/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act registered at PS Bari-Brahmana and investigation was taken up. It is worthwhile to mention here that the accused namely Vipan Kumar Gupta @ Jony S/o Satpal Mahajan R/o Ward No. 6 Bari- Brahmana is a notorious criminal involved in a number of cases registered at PS Bari- Brahmana i.e. FIR No. 154/2003 U/S 294/RPC, FIR No. 92/2008 U/S 341/323/ RPC, FIR No. 144/2009 U/S 341/323/RPC, 4/25 Arms Act, FIR No. 57/2012 U/S 452/323/148/149/427 RPC 4/25 Arms Act, FIR No. 20/2014 U/S 307/34 RPC, 4/25 Arms Act, FIR No. 47/2014 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, 3/25 Arms Act and FIR No. 73/2016 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, 47/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
The accused is a history sheeter of PS Bari -Brahmana and was also detained under PSA during the year 2006. Further investigation is going on.
