2 drug peddlers arrested with charas

JAMMU, Aug 18: Gharota police under Operation Sanjeevani arrested two drug peddlers along with of charas.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gharota police station signaled a Swift Dzire car to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Stinking something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police recovered 25 grams of charas from the possession of two persons travelling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested person has been identified as Vikas Sapolia, son of Jai Lal and Vikram Sharma, son of Sudarshan Kumar, both residents of Gharota.
A case under FIR Number 77/17 under Section 8/20 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Gharota police station and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment.
Police team led by SHO Gharota Inspector MA Giri made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
