SRINAGAR, Sept 29: Police today said it have arrested two drug peddlers in Qazigund area of Kulgam district and recovered poppy straw from their possession.
A police spokesman said that police during checking near Zig Jawahar Tunnel in Qazgund area of the district intercepted a Tata Indica vehicle bearing registration number PB 10BY-4302. “During search 15 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. Two persons namely Jarnal Singh and Darshad Singh, residents of Ludhiana of Punjab, were arrested,” he said.
The spokesman said that a case under FIR number 255/2017 under Section 8/15 NDPS of Qazigund stands registered and investigation was taken up.
