2 die in Rajouri road mishap

JAMMU, Aug 6: Two persons were killed while two others seriously injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle fell into a gorge near Shahdara Sharief in Thannamandi area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 2 pm when the ill-fated vehicle bearing registration No. JK-11A/ 3761 was on its way to Bhathian village from Shahdara Sharief. Some people boarded- off near Ziarat while four persons including driver were moving ahead on Kucha road in the vehicle towards villager. Near Bhathian, the vehicle went out of control and rolled down into nearly 300 feet deep gorge.
People from the nearby area rushed to the spot. Police from Shahdara also arrived there immediately. Later, SDPO, Thannamandi Iftikhar Talib also reached the accident site. The injured were rescued and bodies were also brought on the road from the gorge.
Two persons were killed on the spot. Two others including driver Danish Ahmed ( 20) from Bhathian suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to Thannamandi hospital and then to District Hospital Rajouri. The other injured was identified as Mohd Tahir, son of Mohd Taj from the same area. Driver was later referred to GMC&H Jammu.
The deceased were later identified as Mohd Shabir (20), son of Mohd Rafiq and Mohd Ishfaq (21), son of Abdul Rashid from Bhathian.
