2 die, 2 hurt in road accidents

RAJOURI, June 11: Two persons were killed when a Maruti car was hit by an Army truck near Bhamla on Jammu-Sunderbani-Rajouri road while two persons were injured when a truck-trailer rolled down into a gorge near Bhimber Gali in Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that Maruti car No. JK-11/ 7702 met head on collision with an Army truck at a sharp curve near Bhamla this afternoon. Pt Kewal Sharma, son of Paras Ram, resident of Metka Top, Kalakote and his associate Munish Chadha (30), son of Vipin Chadha hailing from Sehar village near Kalakote died in the accident.
While Kewal died on the spot and was dragged out from the front seat of extensively damaged car, Vipin succumbed while being shifted to Sunderbani hospital. Both were on way to Kalakote from Jammu while Army truck was coming from the opposite direction. The bodies of the deceased after postmortem in Sunderbani hospital were sent to their home town, Kalakote. Police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Another report from Poonch said that a truck-trailler (Tralla), bearing registration No. HP09HG/6721, which was returning to Jammu after off loading goods of Hydel power project near Surankote, rolled down near Bhimber Gali between Surankote and Rajouri today. Both the driver and conductor were seriously injured. They were rescued by the soldiers at nearby Army unit and taken to their hospital. Police from Gursai also reached there after some time. The injured were then referred to District Hospital, Rajouri.
Both of them were later identified as driver Tejinder Singh, son of Paramjit Singh and Tanjit Singh, son of Inder Singh from Amritsar.
