JAMMU, Apr 24: To promote the recent developments in the field of Hand Surgery worldwide, Indian Society for Surgery of the Hand organized a 2-day National Conference in the holy city of Amritsar in association with Amandeep Hospitals & Clinics.
The conference was inaugurated by chief guest, Dr Abraham G Thomas, along with guests of honour, Dr Hardas Singh and Prof Jaspal Singh- Vice Chancellor, GNDU. Dr Avtar Singh, Chief Orthopedic Surgeon, Amandeep Group, Dr Amandeep Kaur, CEO-cum-MD, Amandeep Group, Dr Shahbaz Singh- GM Amandeep Group, Dr Anupreet Kaur, Sandeep Rishi- ADC Tarn-Taran and Rohit Gupta, SDM Batala were also present during the inauguration ceremony.
Presenting welcome address, Dr Ravi Mahajan, Chief Plastic Surgeon, Amandeep Group and organizing chairperson for the conference, said as specialists from all over the country are attending the conference, it definitely benefitted the local upcoming Plastic & Orthopedic Surgeon of the region, who are interested in hand surgery and thus they will be able to pass on this benefit to the patients of the region.
In the 2-day conference, topics like general principles of hand surgery, examination of injured hand, nail bed injuries, finger tip injuries, management of acute hand burns, post burn hand deformities, electric burn upper limb salvage, wrist arthroscopy, rehabilitation after hand surgery and all other recent developments in the field of hand surgery were discussed by various faculty members of the society. More than 35 hand surgeons visited to deliver their lectures in the conference.
Organizing committee chairperson, Dr Avtar Singh, Chief Orthopedic Surgeon, Amandeep Group informed that these types of conferences help a lot to the budding surgeons to sharpen their skills and pass on the benefits of the latest developments in the field of Hand Surgery to their respective patients.
The conference ended with vote of thanks by Dr Sardar Mahipal Singh, Plastic Surgeon, Amandeep Group.
The conference was attended by all surgeons of Amandeep Group and more than 100 local budding surgeons. Trustees of the Society, Prof G Balakrishnan, Prof Bhaskaranand Kumar and Dr S Raja Sabapathy also attended the conference.
