2 critically ill patients airlifted from Kishtwar village

Jammu, Feb 11: State Government today got two critically ill patients airlifted from snowbound Marwah area of Kishtwar to Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu.
Twenty-one year old Saleem Yousuf, son of Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh was admitted at PHC Marwah on Friday after he suffered critical injuries in a mishap at his residence. Similarly, Hajira Begum,wife of Muhammad Yousuf was also admitted in the same medical centre after she suffered miscarriage. Both the patients were in critical condition and were required to be shifted to Jammu for advance medical attention.
State Government today flew both the patients to Jammu in State helicopter. The timely intervention saved the precious lives as condition of both the patients was stated to be out of danger.
Member Legislative Council Firdous Tak rushed to the hospital to enquire about the health of the patients. He remained at GMC Jammu till both the patients were operated and declared out of danger.
Talking to reporters, Tak urged Government functionaries to remain present in the snowbound and cut off areas. “The local residents have complained about the repeated absence of senior Government functionaries including Sub Divisional Magistrate, Tehsildar, Tehsil Supply Officer and Block Medical Officer from the area”, he said adding that the divisional administration has been apprised about the issue with the request to take disciplinary action against the absentees.
