Srinagar, Nov 25:  Two policemen of Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police, an Army man and two militants including Lashkar-e-Toiba commander were killed in two separate militancy related incidents in Kashmir today.
Militants fired on cops of 18th Armed Police Battalion of Jammu and Kashmir Police near Bus Stand Kulgam this afternoon killing two of them and critically injuring another.
The killed cops have been identified as Head Constable Tanveer Ahmad and Constable Jalaluddin of Kulgam while the injured has been identified as Head Constable Shamsuddin.
Sources said that a group of four masked militants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) who came in a Santro car bearing registration number JK18-2207 fired at three cops who were performing law and order duty at Kulgam town. Another cop who was holding a teargas thrower fired a tear gas at the militants who left the car behind and fled through nearby orchards.
The militants left the cops in pool of blood who were rushed to hospital where two were brought dead and another critically injured was shifted to Srinagar for treatment.

Immediately after the attack, senior police and Army officers reached the spot and massive manhunt was launched against the militants responsible for the attack.
A wreath laying ceremony was held in District Police Lines Kulgam where floral tributes were paid to the two cops killed in the attack. DIG SKR Nitesh Kumar led the civil, police officers and jawans in laying floral wreaths.
In the meantime, an Army jawan and two foreign militants were killed in a gun battle in Naidkhai area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district this morning.
A police official said after receiving a tip off, security forces including SOG and 13 RR of Army cordoned off Manzpora village of Naidkhai and launched a search operation. As the searches were underway, militants who were hiding in the village opened fire, on troops killing a soldier Naik Chandra Singh.
The gun battle continued for an hour during which two foreign militants were shot dead. Two AK 47 rifles, one pistol, one bag containing a matrix sheet, two AK magazines, 30 AK rounds, two grenades and one GPS.
The two militants had infiltrated into Kashmir this year along with three others in June this year through Macchil sector of Kupwara. Two of their associates were killed early this week in Hajin area of Bandipora. They have been identified as Abu Suraqa and Abdullah.
Meanwhile, Army today said a militant after being persuaded laid down arms and surrendered before security forces in Tujjar area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The Army said a pistol was recovered from the militant. He is the second militant of LeT in North Kashmir who surrendered before security forces since November 4.
