2 brothers arrested for stealing items from temple

KISHTWAR, Feb 2: Two brothers have been arrested, when they were stealing in a temple at Chanseeri village, falling under the jurisdiction of Chatroo police station.
As per police sources, a thief identified as Ranjeet Kumar, son of Puran Chand, a resident of Keshwan, Thakraie was arrested by the residents of the village Chanseeri, when he was stealing items including gold nath, cash and other items from the temple in same village. The associate of the accused escaped from the spot, when people raised hue and cry.
After getting information, a team from Thathri police station rushed to the spot and took the accused into their custody.
During questioning, the accused revealed that his brother namely Ashok Kumar was accompanying him at the time of theft. Later, the police also arrested Ashok Kumar.
On their disclosure, police recovered gold nath, cash and other items.
A case under FIR Number 9/17 under Section 457 and 380 RPC has been registered against the accused at Chatroo police station and investigation started to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Chatroo Anayat Hussain made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Kishtwar Sandeep Wazir.
