2 bootleggers arrested, illicit liquor kilns smashed

UDHAMPUR, Apr 15: Udhampur Police today arrested two bootleggers and smashed  illicit liquor kilns   under the jurisdiction of Police Station Panchari.
Based on a specific information,  a team of Police Station  Panchari  conducted raid in the house of Lal Chand,   son of Tej Ram  at  Moungari  and  succeeded in recovery of  two  litres of illicit Desi liquor and around 12 litres lahan from his  house.  Police seized the  recovered liquor and destroyed the lahan as well as the kiln, being used for preparing the liquor.
In another incident,  the same police team of PS Panchari conducted raid in the house of Parkash Chand  son of Masa Ram of Kalsote  at  Moungari, and  recovered three  litres illicit Desi liquor and around 20 litres lahan from his  house. The recovered liquor was  seized and lahan was destroyed on the spot.
In this regard, cases FIR Nos.13 and 14 of 2018 U/S 48 (E)  Excise Act have  been  registered at Police Station Panchari against the accused persons.
