2 arrested for disrespecting National Anthem in theatre

JAMMU, Feb 10: Police today booked two youth for disrespecting National Anthem played before the start of a movie inside the Cinema Hall near Narwal.
As per police sources, two youth hailing from Kashmir have been arrested for allegedly disrespecting the national anthem by not standing when the anthem was being played in a cinema hall here last night.
Someone among the viewers complaint to the police about the incident, following which prompt action was initiated.
The arrested persons have been identified as Javaid Ahmad Teeli, resident of Hillar, Anantnag, at present Sainik Colony and Mudasir Ahmad, resident of Neelipura, Handwara.
A case under FIR Number 31/17 under Section 2/3 of Prevention of Insult to National Honour has been registered at Bahu Fort police station against both the persons and investigation started.
The Apex Court on November 30, in an order had directed cinema halls across the country to play the National Anthem before the screening of every movie and stated that all persons present must stand up in respect exempting differently-abled persons.
