2 absconding accused arrested with country made pistol, live rounds

JAMMU, Jan 12: Working further in the shopkeeper attack and loot case, Gandhi Nagar police arrested two absconding accused along with one country made pistol and live rounds.
As per police sources, on January 3 this year, a complaint was lodged by Akshay Gupta, son of Vinod Gupta, a resident of near Laxmi Narayan Mandir with Police Station Gandhi Nagar stating that his father namely Vinod Gupta, owner of M/s Fashion Fab. (Cantabil) Apsara Road Gandhi Nagar was attacked with iron rods by some unknown persons and snatched his bag containing cash.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 1/18 under Section 307, 341, 323 and 382 RPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and two accused identified as Kuldeep Raj alias Nikka, son of Ram Rakha of Melowal, RS Pura and Gurpreet Singh alias Kali, son of Amarjeet Singh of Kotli Shah Doula RS Pura were arrested along with weapon of offence (iron rod) and looted cash Rs 38,000.
During further investigation of the case, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station apprehended the two absconding accused, who have been identified as Rajat Kumar, son of Krishan Lal and Rohit Kumar, son of Karam Chand, both residents of Kotli Shah Doula RS Pura.
On the disclosure of Rajat, a country made pistol and two live rounds have been recovered from his possession and a fresh case under FIR Number 10/18 under Section 3/25 Arms Act has been registered against him at Police Station Gandhi Nagar.
Police team led by SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by SI Sandeep Chauhan made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
