1st open women volleyball tournament gets underway

JAMMU, Oct 30: 1st open women volleyball tournament got underway at Raipur Satwari, here today.
In all, 12 teams of various districts are taking part in the tournament. The participating teams include GCW Udhampur, Ladakh Banla, Trikuta Volleyball Club Jammu, GHS Chowadi, GCW Parade, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Commerce College and others.
The tournament was declared open by Rupenderjeet Kour, Assistant Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu in a simple and well attended function. While addressing the participants, she said such type of tournament will definitely boost the morale of volleyball players in the women category.
The tournament is being organized by Trikuta Volleyball Club Jammu under the supervision of S Amarjeet Singh and Mulkh Raj Sharma.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vishal Charak Sarpanch of Raipur Satwari, Ravi Kumar, Vijay Sharma Jameel Ahmed, Avtar Singh Chib, Kartar Singh, Manjeet Kour and Parveen Kour.
The matches were officiated by S Asa Singh, Harpreet Bhalla, Mousmi Verma, Harish Sharma and Parminder Singh.
