POONCH, Mar 12: Addit-ional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Poonch, Basharat Hussain declared open 1st Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Memorial Football Tournament in an impressive and well attended function at Sports Stadium, here.
The tournament in which eight teams of senior group and three teams of junior group are participating, is being played on league basis.
The opening match was played between Purani Poonch Club and City Club Poonch, wherein City Club won the match by a solitary goal (1-0).
Large number of spectators and prominent citizens witnessed the opening match.
In other matches played today, Purani Poonch defeated Khalsa Club by (1-0) goal and Surankote beat Jhulass by (1-0).
Tarlochan Singh, Mohinder Bali and Jatinder Kumar officiated the matches, while the Tournament is being organized under the supervision of District Football Association Poonch, under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA).
