JAMMU, Apr 24: Beating Karmanya Sharma by (11-7, 8-11, 11-7, 13-11) in the summit clash, Rohan Langer clinched the Cadet singles title trophy as the 1st Kartar Singh Memorial Open Table Tennis Championship concluded at  Stag Jammu Table Tennis Academy, Nanak Nagar, here today.
JP Singh, IG Police was the chief guest on the occasion, who presided over the finals of Men’s singles and Cadet Boys’ singles, which were played between Sandeep Kumar and Sandeep Singh and Rohan Langar and Karmanya Sharma respectively.
In Men’s singles, Sandeep Kumar clinched the title trophy in a closely contested match and the set score was 3-2.
Speaking on the occasion, JP Singh appreciated the maiden attempt made by the Stag Jammu Table Tennis Academy to give a perfect launching pad to the young peddlers of the state and offered his full support in promoting the sport.
Senior Table Tennis players including Sanjay Wahi, Ajay Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Satbir Singh and Dr Dharminder Magotra were present on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Attar Singh, Managing Director of Attar group of Companies, Dr Mohinder Singh, Sanjeev Bhandari, Sanjay Langer, Ravinder Singh, Mr Padha and Satish Gupta.
Meanwhile, in Mixed Doubles final, Sandeep Kumar and Shazer beat Ritvik and Iknoor Kour 9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-9 & 11-9.
The proceedings of the valedictory function and Vote of thanks was presented by Jasleen Kour, while the matches were conducted under the supervision of Ramesh Magotra, Sandeep Khadotra and Meenu.
