1st Gold Cricket Tournament commences

JAMMU, June 10: The 1st Gold Cricket Tournament sponsored by Om Shiv Tutorial and organized by Bhatia Cricket Academy in loving memory of late Amit Sadotra, an outstanding cricketer of the area who had represented J&K in the national tournaments during his lifetime, commended today.
The tournament was inaugurated by Senior Congress leader Mohinder Kumar Bhardwaj, who was the chief guest in presence of Ashok Dubey, Chairmen BCA Sunil Bhatia and Gagan Bhatia.
Sushant Gupta and Ankush Sharma welcomed the guests in the opening ceremony.
The opening match was played between MNCC and Waziru Chak Cricket Club, in which former emerged winner by 5 wickets.
Bhardwaj while addressing the sports persons, youth, students and persons present on the occasion gave a strong message against the menace of drugs prevalent in the society. He motivated the audience to stand strongly against the use of drugs and concentrate on their education, sports activities and religious programmes organized in the area.
He also asked the sports persons, youth and students to promote local sports like wrestling, kabbadi and other rural sports so that maximum people are involved for their physical development.
Among others present were Darshan Kumar, Retd ZEO, Ghanshyam Sharma, Bhram Sharma, etc.
