17 bovines rescued

JAMMU, Jan 11: Bishnah police today intercepted a truck and rescued 17 bovine animals being smuggled.
According to SHO Bishnah, Inspector Paramjeet Singh, a team of police deployed at a naka point near Palli Morh signaled a truck bearing registration number JK02AQ-9185 to stop but the truck driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to flee.
However, the alert police party chased the truck and intercepted it at some distance but the driver and his accomplices managed to flee leaving behind the vehicle. When searched, the police party found 17 bovines loaded in the truck, which were rescued by the police.
A case in this connection was registered at police station Bishnah and the truck seized.
