UDHAMPUR, Mar 17: Chenani police rescued seventeen bovine animals, seized two vehicles and arrested two smugglers last night.
According to police, based on reliable information of cops from Police Station Chenani laid a naka at near Chenani- Domil on National Highway under the supervision of SHO, Chenani Insp Pardeep Gupta and intercepted two vehicles, one Tata Mahindra bearing registration No.JKO2AX-1497 and a truck No. JKOAB-8677, which were on way to Kashmir.
During the search, the vehicles were found loaded with 17 bovine animals. The police seized vehicles along with cattle. Two persons were arrested in this connection. They are identified as Tofeem Nissar, son of Nissar Hussain and Zahid Chaudhary, son of Talib Hussain, both residents of Thanamandi in Rajouri. A case FIR No. 28/29/2017 under section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani against them.
