RAJOURI, Apr 15: At least 15 persons were injured when a tipper and bus collided at Saranu on Rajouri- Kalakote road this evening while a minor girl was seriously injured after she was crushed by a Tata Mobile vehicle in Mendhar today.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when the Tipper No. JK-11/ 8360 was on its way to Rajouri from Kalakote while the bus bearing registration No. JK02P/ 9525 was moving on the opposite direction. Both the vehicles met head-on-collision near Saranu village, resulting injuries to at least fifteen passengers mostly from the bus.
The police party from Rajouri along with ambulance reached to the spot and the injured were removed to District Hospital, Rajouri, where some of them were discharged after providing treatment. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Another report from Mendhar said that a minor girl Safina Akhtar, daughter of Mohd Sayed, resident of Sakhi Maidan was seriously injured when she was hit by a Tata Mobile vehicle in Mankote area on Poonch-Mendhar road this afternoon. The driver sped away from the spot but later police seized the vehicle No. JK12-9366 from Mendhar while its drivers escaped. The girl was rushed to local hospital at Mendhar and later referred to Jammu. The police has registered a case FIR No. 64/ 2017 in this connection.
