REASI/ RAJOURI, July 7: At least 16 persons were injured, some of them seriously when two mini-buses collided in Chassana area of district Reasi on Mahore-Budhal Road this morning.
Reports said the mishap took place at around 10.40 am near Kunderdhan bridge, when both the vehicles bearing registration Numbers JK-20/ 6921 and JK02W/8912 were moving on the opposite directions on this mountainous road. Carelessness of drivers was said to be the reason behind the accident.
A police spokesman said that immediately after the accident, Chassana Police rushed to the spot and they shifted all the injured to Budhal Hospital as this station was nearer as compared to Mahore. While 13 injured passengers of both the vehicles were discharged after providing first-aid by the Medical staff, three seriously injured were referred to District Hospital, Rajouri from Budhal.
They were identified as passenger Asha Devi, wife of Kamal Kumar, resident of Chulli village in Chassana, drivers of the both vehicles namely – Mohd Sharief, son of Ghulam Qadir, resident of Gabbar in Budhal and Tariq Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Dandote village in Budhal. Chassana Police has registered a case in this connection.
