16 bovines rescued, 5 smugglers held

RAJOURI, July 24: Kalakote police today rescued 16 bovines and arrested five smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, a team from Kalakote Police Station led by Additional SP Rakesh Kumar and SDPO Pardeep Singh Gauria laid a naka on Kalakote road and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK11A 1451 and JK11A 0370.
During checking, police rescued sixteen bovines animals, and arrested five smugglers, who have been identified as Mumtaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Behrote, Thanamandi, Aiyaz Ahmed, son of Mohammad Salam, resident of Palanghar, Thanamandi, Mohammad Aslam, son of Makkhna, resident of Kote Dhara, Younis Shawl, son of Ramzani Shawl, resident of Thanamandi and Mohammad Kabir, son of Subba of Rajdhani, Thanamandi.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at police station Kalakote and investigation started.
