158 Dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Nov 2: The number of Dengue cases reported this year in J&K has reached to 158.
“So far, 158 cases of Dengue have been reported this year across the State which is negligible when we compare this figure with last year when it was over 400 in first week of November”, a Health official said.
He said out of 158 positive cases, Jammu district has highest 91 cases, followed by Kathua district, which has 30 such cases and Samba with 14 cases while four cases each have been reported from Reasi and Udhampur, two each from Poonch, Rajouri and Kashmir, three from other states and five from unknown addresses.
The official said that a total of 1234 patients were tested for Dengue till today out of which 158 cases were found positive while reports of 1076 were negative. “No death has been reported due to Dengue so far in the State”, they added.
He further revealed that out of these 158 Dengue patients, 97 were males and 61 females. “Most of the patients affected with the disease have returned to their homes after successful treatment”, he added.
