15-day winter coaching camp commences at Shrine Board’s Sports Complex

KATRA, Feb 2: Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Chief Executive Officer of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board inaugurated fortnight long winter coaching camp at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex, here.
In all, 70 players including boys and girls of Katra and the adjoining areas are participating in this specialized coaching camp during which they will be provided coaching by the highly experienced coaches in the disciplines of Volleyball, Table Tennis, Basketball and Shooting.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sahu welcomed all the participants of the coaching camp and informed that the Shrine Board has created state-of-the-art facilities for promoting the sporting talent among the youth of the area by providing them the basic and advanced coaching, equipment and all other required facilities so that they can make a mark in the various sports events at the state, national and the international levels.
He further said that the endeavour should be to imparting coaching to the youth in such a way that in the next four years the local sportspersons are able to get medals at the national level sports events as well under the guidance of the Governing Council of the Shrine Board’s Sport Complex.
Dr. Arvind Karwani, Dy. Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB gave details of the various facilities made available at the Shrine Board’s Sports Complex.
Ashok Kumar, Director Sports, SMVDSB dwelt on the various sports events being organized by the Shrine Board in the coming months.
Among those present on the occasion were  Pankaj Gupta, Dy. Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB; Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council, prominent citizens and a large number of youth and students of the area.
