14 challaned for unhygienic conditions

JAMMU, Feb 17: On the directions of Minister of Health and Family Welfare Bali Bhagat, a Food Safety team led by Dr Parvesh Kumar, Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Jammu conducted inspection of around 50 bakries, meat sellers, fish shop owners and many other shops and challaned 14 for unhygienic conditions.
The team also comprised Food Safety Officers namely Ajay Khajuria, Hansraj, Jai Inder and Daleep Singh.
The inspection was conducted in bakries, meat sellers shops, fish shop owners, etc.
The team also served show cause notice to 3 food handlers and improvement notice was also issued to one another.
The food handlers, who have been challaned are M/s Peshori Chick Shop at Anand Vihar Talab Tillo Bohri, M/s Singh Non Veg, M/s New Jeevan Bakery at Jewel Chowk, M/s Noorani Muslim Restaurant, M/s Kashmiri Wazwan, M/s Tariq Restaurant at Vinayak Bazaar, M/s Kaka Fish and M/s Rajinder Fish at Below Gummat, M/s Madina Muslim Dhaba at below Gummat, M/s Litch Lord Hotel at below Gummat, Macgrill Pizza at Parade, Amanat Dhaba at Panjtirthi, Eat and Eat Fast Food, Vishal Bakery and many others.
They were not only challaned for unhygienic conditions, but also for cooking in insanitation area and storage in unsuitable conditions.
Dr Parvesh Kumar asked them to maintain the norms as per Food Safety and Standards Act (FSSA), otherwise strict action will be taken in future. He added that this drive will continue in entire city for the safety of public health.
