14 cattle rescued, attempt to murder case registered against driver

JAMMU, Feb 4: The police cops had a miraculous escape, when a bovine laden truck crushed the barricades, which were raised by them for checking of vehicles near new bridge at Thathi, falling under the jurisdiction of Gharota police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gharota police station raised a naka at Thathi area and signaled a truck bearing registration number JK13A-1001 coming from Akhnoor to Jammu to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle, crushed the barricades, which were raised by cops for checking of vehicles and escaped from the spot. However, the cops had a miraculous escape in the incident.
Stinking something fishy, the cops chased the vehicle and intercepted it near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals from the truck, while the driver managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under Section 188 and 307 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered and hunt has been launched to nab the accused driver.
