14 bovines rescued, 2 arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 14: Batote police rescued 14 cattle and arrested two persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Batote Police Station laid a naka near Baggu Nallah and intercepted two persons carrying herd of bovine animals.
During questioning, the persons failed to give reply and got arrested by the police. 14 cattle were rescued from their possession, which they were smuggling to Kashmir.
The arrested persons have been identified as Yasir Hussain, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Batote and Murad Ali, son of Abdul Gani of Patnitop. A case under FIR Number 93/18 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Batote Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote Inspector Nazir Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
