UDHAMPUR, Nov 3: Police today rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested a smuggler under the jurisdiction of Police Station Udhampur.
Based on reliable information, a Police party, led by Inspector Sanjeev Gupta, SHO PS Udhampur, under the supervision of Dy Sp Hqrs Udhampur Kameshwar Puri, laid a surprise naka at Jakhani NHW and intercepted a Truck, bearing Registration number JK02AH 5977.
During search, 14 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. The accused driver namely Nazir Hussain son of Sher Mohd of Poonch was arrested on the spot while all the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 512/2017 U/S 188/RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered at P/S Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
