136 ambulances being procured to increase medicare reach: Bali

JAMMU, Jan 16:          Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today said that the Government is in the process of procuring 136 ambulances to meet the requirement in the field.
The Minister assured that necessary resources including doctors and equipment will be deployed as per the requirement of districts/blocks.
The Minister informed that these ambulances are being purchased against the funds provided by GoI under National Highway Accidental Relief Services Scheme (NHARSS).
Responding to the question raised by MLA Dina Nath Bhagat, the Minister said that two ambulances one each at PHC Latti and PHC Ghordi are working in the area. However, recommendation for replacement of the ambulance at PHC Ghordi has been received which is under consideration. Efforts are also being made for replacement of second ambulance off road presently at PHC Latti and make it functional.
Besides at Chappar, MAC is functioning and at nearby NTPHC Dudu, one fully functional ambulance is available and fully functional.
While replying to the query regarding availability of doctors at PHCs in Chenani constituency, the Minister said that there are 44 sanctioned posts of regular doctors and 12 posts of NRM doctors out of which 19 regular doctors and 7 NRM doctors are in position in the constituency. He said efforts are being made to fill the vacant posts in these institutions to ensure best public health services to the people.
The Minister further informed that the Government has nominated a number of candidates for various medical courses in different streams in FMPHW, Pharmacists (Medical Assts), Lab, Dental, X-Ray, Ophthalmic Assistants, Technicians for operation Theatres, Anesthesia, ECG besides GNM and sanitary inspectors.
