13 army men hurt as Casper plunges into gorge

RAMBAN, Nov 8: Thirteen army men were injured, some of them critically, after their vehicle rolled down into deep gorge near Rattan Bass area in Tehsil Banihal today evening.
As per police sources, a Casper vehicle of 12 RR on routine patrol rolled down at an under construction four-lane bridge at Rattan Bass, resulting into injuries to thirteen personnel.
After getting information, a team from Banihal Police Station led by Inspector Aejaz Wani rushed to the spot and shifted the injured army men to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, from where five injured army men were airlifted to Command Hospital Udhampur and eight others to Command Hospital Udhampur in three ambulances.
The injured army personnel have been identified as Naib Subedar Raju Meena, Sepoy Dashrath, Sepoy Ghansham Meena, Sepoy Reyaz Rana, Sepoy Daleep Kumar, Sepoy SA Khan, Sepoy Jivan Singh, Sepoy Mandeep Bimal, Sepoy Anil Kumar, Seopy Sanjeev Kumar, Sepoy Mandeep Kumar and Sepoy Amandeep.
Banihal police has taken cognizance in this regard.
