1,251 kanals of State land under occupation of Bajwa Brothers in Haryana

SRINAGAR, Aug 29: The Government today said that it is losing hundreds of kanals of land other States with 1,251 kanals of State land under occupation of Bajwa Brothers in Haryana and 148 more kanals being illegally occupied.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who is holding the portfolio of Hospitality and Protocol, in a written reply informed the Legislative Council today that around 1500 kanals of land and huge immovable property outside the State under illegal occupation is being slowly lost.
While replying to a question by Naresh Kumar Gupta of Congress in the Council, the Government said that State owns 1,489 kanals and 18.8 Marlas of land in different States at prime locations which include Delhi, Haryana, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Pathankote, Baba Kharak Singh and Kolkata (West Bengal) in which nearly 148 Kanals are under illegal occupation (96 kanals under Army possession) and rest is leased to these State Governments, other private companies, Defense Ministry and some is in the control of the State Government.
The highest number of assets and land owned by J&K are in Sirsa, Haryana, measuring 1,251 kanals and four Marlas, followed by Raja Ji Marg and Prithvi Raj Road, New Delhi with 114 kanals.
