123rd Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh celebrated

KATHUA, Oct 1: 123rd Birth Anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated today with great enthusiasm by various civil societies and religious organizations at Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha Bhawan, Deoli in Billawar.
A large number of people irrespective of their cast and creed gathered to pay homage and floral tributes to late Maharaja Hari Singh.
Narayan Singh, president, Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha, was the chief guest on the occasion while Jeevan Lal, MLA Bani, Kuldeep Raj, MLA Hiranagar and Daljeet Singh Chib, Vice Chairman, J&K Kissan Advisory Board, were guests of honour. The function started at 11 am with chief guest, guests of honours and other prominent dignitaries paying floral tributes to Maharaja Ji.
While speaking on the occasion, Narayan Singh highlighted the achievements of Maharaja Hari Singh and also other welfare measures adopted by Maharaja for the welfare of the State. He also chose the occasion to reiterate the public demand for declaring gazette holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Ji.
Other speakers said that Maharaja Ji’s tenure was memorable one, as he framed numerous laws for the welfare of the State. They also demanded the Government to announce gazetted holiday on birth anniversary of late Maharaja Hari Singh.
MLA Kuldeep Raj, MLA Jeevan Lal and Daljeet Singh Chib also spoke on high administrative skills of Maharaja Hari Singh and his achievements. Daljeet Singh also assured the public that gazetted holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Ji will be declared by the Government shortly.
