12 structures gutted in Handwara blaze

Srinagar, Oct 31:  At least 12 structures were gutted in a massive blaze in Mawer area of Haril Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district today.

A senior police officer said that that fire engulfed Haril village this morning in which 12 structures were completed gutted while thousands of apple boxes were also destroyed in the inferno. He said after several hours of firefighting, the blaze was brought under control.
The officer said that they are ascertaining the cause of fire. Soon after the inferno, the local administration rushed to the spot and provided relief material under Red Cross to the affected families. A man identified as Khursheed Ahmad was injured in the fire incident.
