11 hurt in Kotranka accident, 2 in Rajouri

RAJOURI, June 18: At least eleven persons were injured when a Tata Magic vehicle overturned in Kotranka area while two women were injured in a car accident near Jamola in district Rajouri late last evening.
Reports said a Tata Magic vehicle, bearing registration number JK-11/6594 which was carrying about a dozen passengers including driver to a nearby village in Kotranka area of district Rajouri late last evening, over turned near Khandli Gali area. After coming to know about the mishap, the people of the area rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.
The injured passengers were removed to Kotranka hospital where some of them were discharged after first aid. All of them were said to be out of danger. The vehicle driver however, managed to escape from the spot. The injured alleged that vehicle was over speeding and driver failed to control it at a curve, resulting into accident. The police has registered a case in this connection.
Meanwhile, two women were seriously injured after a Maruti car bearing registration number JK02AL/3058 went out of control, hit against a boulder on the road side and overturned near Jamola late last evening.
The injured ladies identified as Nisha Devi and Fozia Kouser of Rajouri were rushed to district hospital and later referred to GMC hospital, Jammu. One of them was driving the vehicle. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. It said that lady driving the car was not so trained.
