1050 Kgs lahan, one working still, 15 bottles of illicit liquor destroyed

KATHUA, May 16: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, the Excise Department Range Kathua has destroyed 1050 kilograms of lahan, one working still &15 bottles of illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious to health.
The illicit liquor was recovered by Excise sleuths who conducted the raids in villages of Chakdrab Khan, Jakhbar Dhambra and lower Saktachak areas of Kathua district.
During the raid 1050 kilograms of lahan, one working still &15 bottles of illicit liquor ere recovered by the raiding team from state land and later destroyed on spot.
The raids were conducted on the directions of the Excise Commissioner Mohd. Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh by the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta & Inspector Excise Arun Kumar along with Excise staff.
