10 yrs RI to 3 in attempt to murder case

JAMMU, Nov 2: Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Vinod Chatterji Koul today awarded 10 years imprisonment to Darvinder Kumar and Rakesh Kumar, sons of Om Parkash and Ricky Sharma, son of Hem Raj in attempt to murder case registered at Police Station Satwari.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Rakesh Badyal for the State whereas Advocate Navneet Dubey for the accused, court observed, “keeping in view all the facts and circumstances and while balancing the aggravating and the mitigating circumstances, the ends of justice will be met in case all the accused are sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a term of ten years and also to pay fine of Rs 5000 each for commission of offence punishable under Section 307 RPC”.
“In case of default in paying the fine, accused shall undergo further imprisonment of six months each.  They are further sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of three years and also to pay fine of Rs 500  each for offence punishable under Section 452 RPC and in case of default they shall further undergo imprisonment for a period of two months each”, the court said.
“The accused shall also suffer imprisonment for a period of one month each for offence under Section 323 RPC. Accused Darvinder Kumar is further sentenced to undergo imprisonment for a period of one year and to pay fine of Rs 1000 for offence under 4/25 Indian Arms Act and in case of default in paying the fine, accused shall undergo further imprisonment of one month”, the court further said.
