10 bovine animals rescued, 4 smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Mar 16: Foiling two separate attempts of bovine smuggling, Udhampur police today rescued ten animals and arrested four persons.
Acting on reliable information, a Police team from PS Chenani laid a surprise naka near Motor Shed and intercepted one Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02AC-8146, which was on way towards Kashmir. During thorough search, the vehicle was found loaded with five bovine animals, which were rescued. Police also seized the vehicle and arrested its driver namely Javed Ahmed of Batote. A case under section 188/RPC 3 PCA Act was registered in this connection at Police Station Chenani
In a separate case, a Police Party from PP Ghordi laid a surprise naka near village Lhngh and intercepted three suspicious people who were travelling on foot towards Srinagar, along with 5 bovine animals without valid documents.
Police rescued the animals and arrested the accused, who were identified as Mohd Sharif,   Ayoub Din and Mohd Sharif of Bidla Ramnagar.
Police has registered the case in this connection too.
